Three reasons why iPhone 3.0 is still three years behind

The image shown here was used to mock the iPhone 3G when it was released about a year ago lacking many features that modern cellphones - even the basic ones - have had for years. The iPhone 3.0 software update was announced recently by Apple and, as expected, got the iFanboys into a frenzy. Apple announced some 100 “new” features for the iPhone and ensured that the iPhone got a few more “ticks” while comparing with a stone age, um, stone. The rest of the world, however, lauded Apple’s efforts to bring the iPhone within three years of the competition. Kudos!
Here are three reasons why the iPhone is still three years behind the competition:
The very fact that the addition of MMS to a mobile phone ( man, my very first phone that I got over six years ago had MMS) got so much euphoria from the iPhone users shows how behind the ages the iPhone was and will still be.
Still no video recording. For that matter, the 2 megapixel camera cannot boast good still pictures, either.
No background processing? Why? Because such “daemons” would consume 80% of the battery life. Wow! In an age where all smartphones support background tasks, one would think these phones had a battery life of 10 minutes.
PS: The iPhone might be technologically behind, but the sales and the market frenzy show otherwise. Speaks volumes about the iFanboys and the marketing prowess of Apple. Kudos, again!
