Time pass with Google suggest
Most web users, by now, must be aware of the Google Suggest feature (that Google had tried on and off previouly) that Google has incorporated into its search pages. The Google suggest works on all the latest versions of the Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Chrome browsers ( Opera users, like me, are disappointed, especially considering that Opera is the most standards compliant browser available!)
My browser related gripe aside, I have found the Google suggest feature to be rather entertaining, to say the least. I have spent hours trying various combination of words to see the suggestions that it spews out and these have turned out to be pretty humorous and, at times, kind of insightful.
I started of with my favorite - Apple is. Am always critical about Apple and its products. Apple is, to me, overrated. Well, anyway, the first suggestion for Apple is was Apple is an evil evil company. There was also the Apple is overrated suggestion. Great! Just what I had in mind. I thought Microsoft is would also givie similar suggestions, but it wasnt so. The suggestions were more to do with the layoffs and the recession that has hit Microsoft. Recession, or no recession, Apple seems to be evil. That’s quite revealing. What say?
Did you try out Google is? The first suggestion was Google is your friend. Wow! Now, if thats not manipulated in some way, I will, ahem, start worshiping Google. Google is making us stupid was also there. That’s more like it! We are getting so dependent on Google that we even search for 3+4= on Google. And, to highlight our stupidity, Google displays the result as 3+4=7. Who needs to go to school huh? There’s Google.
What’s more, it seems like am not the only one wasting hours trying iut Google suggest ( and becoming stupider in the process). Check out this Fun With Google Suggest article at PC World.
