Getting to know Window 7 better
There are many new things about Windows 7. Some good. Some bad. They could wow you, baffle you or plain frustrate you. And Windows 7 being Windows, there are all these age old quirks that have Windows its id, as well.
Even though Windows 7 is not that different from Vista, but, since many have skipped Vista altogether and would probably be moving from XP to 7, there is a lot to know about Windows 7 before we can get comfortable working with it.
InformIT has an excellent article on just that. The article claims that its for beginners, but hey, it never hurts to know all about the operating system you will be using ( probably!)
The article starts of with telling you that Windows is an Operating System ( yeah, they are stretching the beginner bit here.) Then it welcomes you to the world of Windows 7 (hippeee!!) and starts talking about it, rightly, from the various version of the OS. The version have always been confusing ( what else do we expect from Microsoft?) and there is a clear cut explanation on the various version and will do a lot in helping you make the right choice.
The table given over there was pretty comprehensive and after pouring over it for a few minutes I was able to make the choice that the Home Premium would be the right choice for me, given my need for features and more importantly, my budget.
So go ahead and take a look at this 10-page article that covers everything about Windows 7, well, for the beginners at least!
